Hello and welcome to another installment of Hello Neighbour. Downtown is full of so many different businesses, some you may be familiar with and some you may just be discovering. Today we are sharing one of our many neighbours with you, Please say hi to Aiden from @ragandbrew

Hello, my Name Is Aiden Bailey James, I am a 27-year-old artist and entrepreneur. I was born in Saskatoon, however, moved around the southern half of Saskatchewan until I moved back to Saskatoon around 2008. When I’m not working at Rag and Brew, you can catch me making music, promoting local Downtown concerts or at our local oval track watching the races.

I’ve long enjoyed living Downtown for the culture and arts, plus the energy that accompanies the core. A Downtown street fair is what led to a chance encounter, conversation and eventual opening of my business. Deciding to open my shop was a very spur-of-the-moment thing with a great result.

At Rag N’ Brew, we approach what a retail space could be from a different perspective than most. It is often not about our products, as we believe they speak for themselves, rather we lean towards our city’s culture, both current and future. We just did a concert video with King Rose Visuals on the roof of the Drinkle 3 building featuring our partners Alex Bent + The Emptiness & High Noon Barber Shop. For us, it is incredibly important to build out a community of like-minded people to execute our collective vision. We intend to bring something new and extra to the table soon with all-ages events, art and more!

There’s a lot of room and opportunity for growth and change here if you’re willing to find it. When I have free time, I often like to make a day of being Downtown, walk by the river, get a haircut (at High Noon of course!) & Noodle Bowl at Restaurant 224. Our Downtown and Meewasin Valley trails always have something new to offer!
