Hello friends! My name is Rachel Stange and I’m the owner of Free Bird Hair Design. I specialize in bridal and special event hair and also enjoy natural, lived-in colours & cuts. I offer on-location services for weddings and photoshoots as well as styling, colour and haircut services in my studio. I also offer education for professional hairstylists wanting to elevate their bridal and special event styling and am passionate about connecting, supporting and sharing ideas through the hair industry.

I’ve been in the hair industry for 18 years and have spent a large portion of my career located Downtown! I chose Downtown because I was drawn to the studio salon suite concept that The Guild Studios offers. I love that I can be a fully independent business while also being a part of a community co-space! I enjoy making genuine connections with other businesses and believe we’re stronger when we’re supporting and collaborating together. think being Downtown is special because of the vibrant and dynamic environment it provides, it attracts folks to get out and explore the heart of Saskatoon!

When not working, I love going to the Remai Modern. Walking around the gallery always feels like a curiously delightful experience. Hearth Restaurant is truly a must when you visit too, their food is next-level amazing. In the summer, I enjoy the Sasktel Saskatchewan Jazz Fes5val, It’s one of my favourite times of the year when you hear music everywhere you turn and the city lights up with the most incredible energy!

Saskatoon has a special place in my heart because of the beautiful lessons and connections I’ve made along my journey. I didn’t originally come from here, but honestly, I’ve never felt like any place has felt like “home” more than Saskatoon has. The humans that make up Saskatoon are true gems & I feel so fortunate and grateful to be connected to this city.
