Hi, my name is Kayla, I am a dog stylist and the owner of YXE Pet Parlour. I grew up in Knoxville, Tennessee and moved to Saskatoon in 2012 after meeting my husband in college down south. My mother is a dog stylist and I followed in her footsteps, learning and perfecting my talent and then opening Pet Parlour in 2020. 

Our Downtown Pet Parlour is a dream come true. We are located in the 2nd Ave Lofts building formerly known as the old “Hudson’s Bay Building”. We knew we wanted to bring a modern twist on the typical ‘pet shop/salon’ and what better place to do it than Downtown, where modern meets historic.

A goal for the future would be to have other businesses in and around the Downtown area to become more pet friendly. More places you can shop, eat, and relax with your pet. A dog park for small/medium dogs for the Downtown community would be a great asset to the people who live downtown and don’t visit the big dog parks. 

When I’m not busy grooming dogs, you can find me walking along the river with my pets, spending time with family and friends on a Downtown patio, rooftop bar or pub. In the summer time, I enjoy all that Downtown has to offer like food trucks, sidewalk sale and the jazz festival. 

Saskatoon is special to me because it reminds me of home. All of its people quickly adopted me as one of their family and friends and I’m grateful for the relationships I have developed with the other pet loving residents of Saskatoon, and I look forward to building many more.
