Hi! My name is Brigitte, and I am a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor and owner of Gilded Cage Counselling. I’ve called Saskatoon home for nearly 20 years and love our beautiful city and the people who live here. One of my favorite things to do is to grab an ice cream cone and walk around the river with friends or take my two poodles, Missy and Wimbley, for walks to see the pelicans by the weir.

I am a newly registered counsellor with the Association of Cooperative Counselling Therapists of Canada, and I opened my private practice in April 2022. I chose to open my practice downtown because of the location, and the beautiful Avenue Building. It’s important that my clients feel comfortable in session, and I felt The Avenue Building offered something special. Much like other areas of downtown, the building is full of our city’s history, and it is special to be a part of it. I love the stores, restaurants and our beautiful river so much that I recently bought a condo so I can be closer to everything downtown has to offer.

I became a counsellor after finding the benefit of therapy myself. My goal is to contribute to the mental health field by normalizing the experience of getting support. I hope one day going to a therapist is as common for everyone as seeing your dentist or optometrist. My hope is that people reading this will know that a person does not necessarily need to be in crisis to come to therapy, and that therapy can look different for everyone. If you are looking for a therapist, it’s important that you feel that you are a good fit as there are many areas of practice and specialties. Saskatoon has many wonderful psychologists, social workers, and registered counsellors that can help support you. I encourage you to count yourself in and get the support that you deserve.
