Hello and welcome to another installment of Hello Neighbour.
Downtown is full of so many different businesses, some you may be familiar with and some you may just be discovering. Today we are sharing one of our many neighbours with you, please say hi to Natasha from @stardust.clothing.accessories
Hello, my name is Natasha Seeseequasis from Beardy’s and Okemasis Cree Nation here on Treaty 6 territory. I am the owner/operator of Stardust, a local artisan shop here in the heart of Downtown in Midtown. Our shop is filled with many magical art pieces, which include but are not limited to: Beadwork, Paintings, Dreamcatchers, Handsewn Clothing, Mocassins, Crochet Work, Stain Glass, Prints, Jewelry, Home Decor and tons more! We also have recently opened up our workshop space where we are hosting workshops with our amazing artisans!
We chose to bring our shop into the Downtown core due to the liveliness of Midtown. We have many customers visit us from the offices located Downtown and in the Midtown tower too due to our location. Downtown is also central to our customer base, which makes it easier for all of our customers to visit us and shop. Plus there are so many cool shops Downtown we love being a part of the community and the river is just walking distance away.
We are hoping to keep this space for some time as we expect to succeed here at the mall as we keep getting good feedback and sales are deadly. We definitely intend to keep this alive! I love seeing local cool shops opening up within the district and look forward to seeing more joining us all Downtown.
When I am not working, we really enjoy watching movies at Scotia bank theatre, and definitely checking out the river bank, it is so beautiful out there!
Saskatoon is special to me because it has everything we need and there are so many neat businesses opening up. There is always something to do and if you don’t have any money to part with, you can always go for a walk down by the river as it is one of the most peaceful things ever. Saskatoon is also quite close to my reserve which is Beardy’s Okemasis Cree Nation, so the family is always near.
