Beginning in early May, the Broadway Bridge, including pedestrian walkways on each side, will be fully closed until fall 2025.
Downtown will remain accessible via its many entry points and bridges.
The upcoming construction project will include improvements to arches, railings and pathways, deck repairs, new barriers, and more. The project will also include a reconfiguring of the 4th Ave S and 19th St E intersection. This reconfiguration will create a more pedestrian-friendly intersection and see the removal of the current traffic island located in the middle area.
Pedestrian access via the Meewasin Trail will be maintained through scaffolding tunnels under the Bridge and both Friendship Park and the boat launch will still be accessible and open.
Work throughout the project will be taking place between 7am and 7pm, some situations may arise where work takes place outside of these hours, but contractors will adhere to City bylaws.
Bi-Weekly Project updates are available by request via [email protected]
