Who Should Use this Kit?

There will be a large social media presence utilizing Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, in the lead up to and during this event, allowing attendees to engage in a more social and mobile experience. This toolkit is designed to provide you information and assist you in amplifying the discussion surrounding the 2ND AVE Sidewalk Sale. Before the event: Your posts will generate buzz and increase visitors to your business. Try posting our sample posts on all three platforms.

During the event: Your posts will provide updates and interaction with attendees. Idea to try: Social media-savvy? Run a social media contest during the sale to generate additional interest in your business. For example, if you operate a clothing store, post a photo of a hat or tee shirt in your store and encourage followers to like, retweet or use a special hashtag for a chance to win. After a couple hours, draw names and post the winner, and have them pick up their prize. You can choose one social platform to run the contest, or multiple platforms–whichever suits you best. The idea is to enhance your visibility at the time of the sale, and increase interest in awareness in your product.

After the event: Share stories from the sale, and continue using #shopthestreet and #backdowntown. Take advantage of the extra publicity you earned at the sale, and post about future business happenings.
