Job Summary:
The Program, Events, and Partnership Manager will lead the planning, coordination, and execution of programs and events to enhance Downtown Saskatoon’s vibrancy. We seek a passionate, creative individual to activate public spaces, engage local businesses, and build strong partnerships. Key Responsibilities:
- Program and Event Planning & Management: Develop and manage a calendar of events and programs including vendor markets, arts demonstrations, street performances, holiday celebrations, and community-focused activities. Support Business Partners and Organizations that plan events and programs in our district.
- Business Partner Engagement: Cultivate relationships with local businesses, property owners, cultural organizations, and non-profits. Serve as a liaison between the Downtown Saskatoon Business Improvement District (BID) and its stakeholders, ensuring seamless onboarding of new partners and fostering long-lasting relationships.
- Community Outreach: Connect with the local community and engage new businesses and property owners to ensure their involvement in Downtown City’s initiatives.
- Budget Management: Oversee program and event budgets, ensuring financial guidelines are followed while delivering engaging, high-quality events.
- Permit Coordination: Work with city officials to secure necessary permits for events and activities. Support our Business Partners who have Downtown Saskatoon events and festivals with permit information.
- Volunteer & Staff Management: Recruit, train, and manage volunteers and hourly staff for programs and events, ensuring smooth operation and a positive experience for all.
- Data Tracking & Evaluation: Develop methods to track and evaluate program and event success, using data to refine strategies and improve outcomes.
- Public Relations: Represent the BID at public events, meetings, and community gatherings, promoting the district and its initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Education: Event Management, Project Management or a related field.
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in event planning, project management, community engagement, or a similar role.
- Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Attributes: Creative, energetic, and self-motivated with a passion for community building and engagement. Demonstrates excellent project management and problem-solving skills with an entrepreneurial mindset.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, to support events and programs.
- Interpersonal Skills: Comfortable engaging with people at all levels, from community members to business owners, with a high degree of professionalism and energy.
- Bonus: Familiarity with Downtown Saskatoon and the BID District is a plus.
