Hello, we are Laura and Sarah Dutka, the mother-daughter duo behind Paramount DaySpa Salon Boutique, a luxury destination for spa, salon, and boutique experiences in the heart of Saskatoon. With a proud 74-year history, Paramount has become a cornerstone of Downtown Saskatoon’s business community.
Laura purchased Paramount in 2000 from her longtime friend and esthetician, Ellen Gaunt, bringing her expertise in business and finance to grow and evolve the company while preserving its trusted reputation. From the start, her vision was to create a positive and supportive workplace where beauty professionals could thrive in their careers. Another of Laura’s passions was fashion, which led her to introduce jewelry and clothing into Paramount’s small retail space. What started as a modest offering quickly grew into Paramount Boutique, becoming an integral part of the business and a favorite among clients.
Sarah grew up immersed in the business, starting as a receptionist in high school. After earning her Bachelor of Commerce in 2009, she took on leadership roles in sales, operations, and marketing. Sarah is passionate about team development and fostering an environment where staff can grow their skills, build lasting client relationships, and deliver exceptional service. She is excited to continue building on Paramount’s legacy in downtown Saskatoon, offering luxury spa, salon, and boutique experiences to the community she loves.
Downtown Saskatoon has always been at the heart of Paramount’s story. When we moved to our current location in 2018, staying Downtown was an easy decision. It’s the vibrancy, diversity, and energy of the area that makes it so special. We love being surrounded by other local businesses, from coffee shops to art galleries and unique boutiques. Downtown is more than just a location—it’s a community, and we’re proud to be part of its continued growth.
We see Paramount continuing to grow as a destination where people come not only to relax and rejuvenate but also to shop and discover something new. We want to build on our boutique offerings and create even more unique experiences for our guests. We’d love to see Downtown Saskatoon evolve into an even stronger hub for local shopping, wellness, and culture—a place that draws people in for both experiences and exploration.
We love everything about Downtown life! A perfect day off might start with a walk along the riverbank, followed by shopping at some of Saskatoon’s amazing local stores, and then grabbing a coffee (from Café Del Rey, of course!) or a meal at one of the many fantastic restaurants. It’s that mix of nature, culture, and community that makes Downtown Saskatoon so special.
