SASKATOON, SK – The Saskatoon Downtown Business Improvement District known as The Partnership has changed its name to better reflect its unique focus and character. Effective today, The Partnership will be known as Downtown Saskatoon with a new visual identity that conveys the energy and vibe of the district.

“From its vibrant streets to river’s edge, Downtown Saskatoon offers an upscale urban experience unlike anywhere else in Saskatchewan,” said Brent Penner, Executive Director of Downtown Saskatoon. “We wanted a brand as fresh, elevated and contemporary as the district itself.”

According to Penner, the district offers a rare mix of fashion retailers, local restaurants and significant cultural and natural amenities. It boasts Saskatchewan’s preeminent modern art gallery, Remai Modern, the province’s premiere fashion destination, Midtown, and Saskatoon’s renowned Castle on the River, the Delta Bessborough. Unlike other commercial districts, Downtown Saskatoon also hosts many of the city’s most popular festivals, flanked by Saskatoon’s beautiful riverbank and Meewasin Valley Trail.

The district’s street banners, signage and digital media channels have been updated to reflect the new brand. They also feature the district’s new abbreviated name: DTNYXE.

“We’re introducing DTNYXE to make it easier for residents and visitors to share their Downtown experiences through social media channels like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram,” said Penner. “Our goal is to make more Downtown experiences memorable, enjoyable and sharable.”
