Hunger Cure Restaurant

Hello, my name is Kunal Makkar I am the owner of Hunger Cure Restro Bar on 2nd Ave in the old 2nd Ave Grill location, as well as Between The Buns location at Early Drive in Saskatoon. I have been in the restaurant industry for over 20 years now and part of restaurant openings across Canada. Here at Hunger Cure, we have such a unique benefit, which is a roof-covered atrium that allows us the outdoor experience year-round without the cold of winter. This space is often used for weddings, birthdays, bachelor and bachelorette parties, as well as corporate and holiday parties too.

Having our restaurant Downtown is great, it is the hub of all businesses, surrounded by hotels and a diverse business clientele. Downtown also brings in a lot of customers from Downtown employees to those attending summer events like Taste, Jazz Fest, Downtown Sidewalk Sale, and many more.

In the future, I want to see our business grow as more people come back to work in their offices after Covid. We also look to grow our catering options as we currently have found success in our catering of large parties that range from 20 to 200 people. We love to support local and look forward to the growth in support of all things local too.

While not at work I love to enjoy Downtown, especially in the summer. Walking along the river bank and enjoying the many restaurant choices plus all of the events that happen Downtown.

Saskatoon is special to me as it is a friendly and growing city. It allows a lot of opportunities for immigrants to settle down and more. It is one of Canada’s lowest cost-of-living major cities too.
