  • St. Paul’s, the original diocesan Cathedral in downtown Saskatoon, has served us well. Originally built in 1910, it was designated the diocesan cathedral when the Diocese of Saskatoon was established in 1933. Eventually, however, St. Paul’s did not have the seating capacity to serve the growing diocesan Catholic community as the location for diocesan events such as ordinations, the Chrism Mass, etc. Because of its historic significance to the diocesan faith community, the Vatican has given permission for St. Paul’s to be designated a Co-Cathedral. St. Paul’s will also continue to serve a vibrant faith community in the downtown area.
