Downtown Saskatoon is the economic and cultural heart of our city – but it’s also where the most urgent challenges converge. As the Downtown Saskatoon Business Improvement District, we represent 108 blocks of vibrant commerce, creativity, and community. Yet rising safety concerns threaten the vitality we’ve worked so hard to build.
That’s why we are proud to champion the Indigenous-led Peacekeepers Pilot Project – a bold, compassionate initiative rooted in cultural understanding, proactive engagement, and community collaboration. This pilot aligns with the City Centre and District Plan’s vision for a thriving, inclusive downtown, and responds directly to the escalating disorder impacting our businesses, employees, residents, and visitors.
Here, you’ll find our full letter of support to City Council, outlining the data, urgency, and strategic rationale behind this initiative. We invite you to stand with us in advocating for a safer, more resilient downtown – one that welcomes everyone and leaves no one behind.
